1. Acceptance of These Terms
By accessing Official Driving Permit (the “Site”) or placing an order through it, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use the Site or our services.
2. Who We Are & What We Provide
Official Driving Permit is a private, independent document-assistance service. We prepare a multi-language translation of your existing driver’s license in the format commonly known as an International Driving Permit (IDP), together with a digital copy. We are not a government agency, and we are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any government authority, automobile association, or licensing body.
The document we produce is not a driver’s license and does not grant driving privileges on its own. It must always be carried together with your valid national driver’s license.
3. Your Eligibility & Obligations
- You must hold a valid driver’s license issued by a government authority.
- You must provide accurate, current and complete information in your application, including legible document photos.
- You are responsible for verifying that our document is accepted in your destination before ordering (see our Legal Disclaimer and the eligibility notes on our home page).
- You may not use our services for any unlawful purpose, including misrepresenting the document as a government-issued license.
4. Orders, Pricing & Payment
Prices are displayed on the Site and charged at checkout in US dollars unless stated otherwise. Payment is processed by our payment provider (Stripe); we never see or store your full card details. An order is accepted when we confirm it by email after successful payment.
5. Processing & Delivery
Digital documents are typically prepared after your payment and documents are confirmed, often the same day. Physical booklets are shipped to the address you provide; delivery times vary by destination and carrier and are estimates, not guarantees. You are responsible for providing a correct, complete shipping address.
6. Validity Period
Your document is issued with the validity period you select at checkout, starting from the issue date. It can never outlast your underlying national driver’s license: if your license expires or is suspended, the translation document ceases to be usable regardless of its printed dates.
7. Intellectual Property
All content on the Site — text, design, graphics and logos — belongs to us or our licensors and may not be reproduced without permission, except for personal, non-commercial viewing.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from your use of the Site or our services is limited to the amount you paid us for the order concerned. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including fines, rental refusals, travel disruption or insurance outcomes resulting from reliance on the document in jurisdictions where it is not accepted.
9. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The version published on this page at the time of your order applies to that order. Material changes will be indicated by the “Last updated” date above.
10. Governing Law & Contact
These Terms are governed by the laws of [YOUR JURISDICTION]. Questions about these Terms: support@officialdrivingpermit.com.

1. Information We Collect
To prepare your document we collect the information you submit in the application form:
- Identity details — name, date of birth, nationality, contact details and shipping address.
- License details — issuing country, license number, categories and expiry date.
- Images — a photo of your driver’s license and a passport-style photo of you.
- Order details — the plan, duration and destination you select. Payment details are collected directly by Stripe, not by us.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information solely to: produce and deliver your document, contact you about your order, provide customer support, meet legal obligations, and prevent fraud. We do not sell your personal data.
3. Service Providers We Share Data With
- Cloudinary — secure storage of the images you upload.
- Google Workspace — order management (application details are logged in a private spreadsheet).
- Stripe — payment processing.
- Shipping carriers — name and address, to deliver your physical booklet.
Each provider processes your data under its own privacy safeguards and only to the extent needed to perform its role.
4. Data Retention
We keep order records for as long as needed to provide the service, handle renewals or replacements, and satisfy accounting obligations. You may request earlier deletion of your images and personal details (see Your Rights below); we will honour it unless we are legally required to retain the data.
5. Your Rights
Depending on your location (including under the GDPR if you are in the EU/EEA), you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, email support@officialdrivingpermit.com — we respond within 30 days.
6. Cookies
The Site uses only functional cookies/storage (for example, remembering your language preference). We do not run third-party advertising trackers. If analytics are added in the future, this policy will be updated first.
7. Security
All traffic to the Site is encrypted (HTTPS). Uploads are transferred to our storage provider over encrypted connections, and access to order data is restricted to authorized staff.

1. Private Service — Not a Government Agency
Official Driving Permit is a private company. We are not a government body and we are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of any government, embassy, automobile association (such as AAA or RAC), or the United Nations. Names of conventions (1949 Geneva, 1968 Vienna) are referenced solely to describe document formats.
2. Nature of the Document
The document we provide is a translation of your existing driver’s license presented in the internationally recognized IDP format. It is not a driver’s license, does not replace your license, and confers no driving privileges by itself. It must always be presented together with your valid national driver’s license.
3. Acceptance Is Not Guaranteed
Acceptance of any IDP-format document is always at the discretion of the local authority, rental company or insurer you present it to. Some destinations — including Japan, South Korea, mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and North Korea — require a government-issued IDP or apply their own local rules, as flagged on our home page. It is your responsibility to confirm the requirements of your destination before ordering and before driving.
4. No Legal Advice
Nothing on this Site constitutes legal advice. Information about foreign driving rules is provided in good faith and kept as current as we reasonably can, but rules change — always verify with an official source.
5. External Links
The Site may link to third-party websites. We are not responsible for their content or practices.
